The Outpost

Granby Ranch is proud to announce a new F&B location at the top of our East Peak. Situated right next to the Quick Draw Lift, The Outpost will serve an assortment of Mac N Cheese and Chili selections, along with beer, mixed drinks and mocktails.

The Outpost has expansive mountain views for guests to enjoy their food and drinks and is Granby Ranch’s first on-mountain eatery.

Patrol Headquarters

The new Grip Bay building at the top of East Mountain hosts our Ski Patrol Dispatch, allowing for faster response time to calls on the mountain, and doubles as a training center for our patrol team.

This multi-purpose building also hosts a chairlift maintenance facility, which increases the safety and efficiency of our chairlift maintenance procedures.

Base Lawn Improvements (Patio/Fireplaces/Lawn)

patio

The summer of 2025 marked the completion of our newly redesigned patio at the base lodge, surrounding the North, East, and South ends of the building, complete with a new 14’x3’ fire pit, sail shades, and expanded outdoor dining. We’ve installed a state-of-the-art irrigation system at the base, helping to improve sustainability with more efficient water usage, with optimized storm drains to route water more efficiently during snow melt.

Expanded Beginner Terrain and Covered Conveyor

stagecoach

Granby Ranch invested in a new 400-foot covered conveyor named “Stagecoach”, accessing expanded beginner terrain and providing more opportunities to learn to ski. This conveyor is open to any ticket or pass holder, and provides a stepping stone for those who aren’t quite ready to ride an elevated ski lift.

Terrain Improvements

Extensive work has been done on both East and West Mountain to improve skiing. On West, extensive tree removal, regrading, and expanded snowmaking on previously underutilized terrain expands intermediate skiing on  newly named ‘Renegade Ridge’ as well as widening of popular Jackpot Trail.

Snowmaking Improvements

snowmaking

Extensive capital investment in new snowmaking equipment and updated infrastructure has improved production and quality providing guests with exceptional skiing and riding experiences on some of Colorado’s best beginner and intermediate terrain.  In 2024, Granby Ranch opened at Thanksgiving for the first time in its 43 year history, a tradition ushered in with state of the art snowmaking capability.

Snowcat Fleet Improvements

snowcat

Granby Ranch invested in two new snowcats at the start of the 2024/2025 season. These grooming machines help our mountain operations team maintain the pristine conditions our guests have come to expect. Investment in a 10 passenger bubble snowcat enables guests to experience the beauty of Granby Ranch via non-skiing guided tour.

Rental Equipment Overhaul

rental skis

From 2022-2025, Granby Ranch has invested in an entirely new ski and snowboard fleet, new mountain downhill and e-bikes, and replaced the snowshoe fleet. In 2024/2025 season, we also purchased a Nordic fleet for rentals and lessons for the first time in GR history.

Expanded Parking

Completed in time for the 2025 summer season, the expansion of our Montana parking lot paves the way for the parking needed as the resort continues to expand. This new lot will allow for more cars to be able to park in the lots across the street from the main lodge, with just a quick walk from tailgate to the slopes! Granby Ranch’s parking is free for all guests, and we are one of the few resorts to have exclusively free parking.

Expanded Ski Terrain and New Lift

With growth comes the need for additional skiable acreage.Granby Ranch will ultimately be expanding our East Mountain terrain with the addition of a new lift South of Quick Draw Express.

Golf Clubhouse and Reimagined Course Layout

Expanded Infrastructure

Water service is being improved through a new water trunkline. It is being looped down to the golf course and around Sol Vista Road to Highway 40 to provide redundancy and better fire protection as well as allow for new development.

Granby Ranch is also in talks with cell phone providers to invest in an increase in overall coverage and improve cell service throughout the resort and accompanying development.

West Mountain Village

The West Mountain development plans include various neighborhoods with expanded Highway 40 side ski terrain and a connector to the new Primary resort entrance.

Future and Ongoing Development

There is much expansion and future development both in the works and in the planning process. There will be several developments occurring near and within the golf course area, including single family homes as well as improvements to the clubhouse and course itself. The East Mountain will see new investment for ski area operations as well as future residential opportunities. The new South Mountain area of the property will be focused on future residential neighborhoods.

Ranch Hall

Every community needs a central gathering place – a place to socialize with friends, family and neighbors, a place to celebrate, a place to create shared memories and experiences. Ranch Hall is that gathering place.

Granby Ranch Homeowners have access to the homeowner lounge at Ranch Hall, where many Homeowner events occur throughout the year. Other amenities at Ranch Hall include the fitness center, pool, hot tub, and the children’s playground.

The amenities are open and available year-round to Granby Ranch Homeowners. Come experience everything Ranch Hall has to offer!

Environmental Stewardship

Our goal is to minimize our climate impact through environmental stewardship here in Grand, hopefully inspiring others to do the same. In the last two years, we have switched our lighting over to energy-efficient LEDs, and plastic reduction in the dining hall with the introduction of reusable plates and cutlery, and the installation of air hand dryers and water-filling stations.

Introduction of Guest Transportation

Due to the increase in train frequency from the Front Range to Granby, Granby Ranch will look to incorporate scheduled shuttle service from the Granby train depot.

Destination Granby has also implemented a 7-day a week ride share service called “Granby Connect”, which helps visitors get around the town of Granby.

Forest Management and Fire Mitigation Work

Granby Ranch is proud to be a Certified Firewise community! We are also proud to partner with Colorado Wildfire Council, West Grand Fire, and Colorado State Forest Service to responsibly mitigate wildfire risk. Extensive work to clean up deadfall, create fire breaks, and manage forest growth with the help of forest experts has been underway for the past two summers and will continue into the future.

Winter Activities

Granby Ranch has vastly expanded winter events and activities, from Rail Jams to Uphill Races for the more extreme athletes, to Spring Break Music and Paint and Sips catering to all audiences. We host free community events in the winter like our New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Santa visits.

Summer Activities

When the snow melts, Granby Ranch shifts gears to mountain biking, golfing, and live music! Our Rocky Mountain Music Series has been expanding with bigger and better acts and more activity booths. We have introduced competitions like our Labor Day 5k, the Human Potential Running Series for ultra-trail running, and a downhill bike race with Big Mountain Enduro. Summer is prime time for our free music shows, as we have Rocky Mountain Music Series, Wednesday Night Music, and Sunday Patio Music.

Community Partnerships

Granby Ranch is always looking to partner with non-profits and other community groups. Recently, we became the new host site of the KFFR radio tower, expanding their radio broadcasting further west in the county.

We are also proud to partner with Grand County School District to offer Free Ski Fridays for all children and faculty of the school district.
